Steps
- 1
Cook linguine in a large pot of salted boiling water according to package directions until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water.
- 2
While pasta cooks, pat shrimp dry and season with salt and pepper.
- 3
Heat olive oil and 2 tbsp butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add shrimp and red pepper flakes; cook for 1-2 minutes per side until pink and opaque. Remove shrimp from skillet and set aside.
- 4
Reduce heat to medium. Add remaining 2 tbsp butter and minced garlic to the skillet. Cook for 1 minute until fragrant (do not brown).
- 5
Pour in white wine (or broth) and lemon juice. Bring to a simmer and cook for 2-3 minutes, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan.
- 6
Add the cooked and drained linguine to the skillet. Return shrimp to the pan. Toss everything together, adding a splash of reserved pasta water if needed to create a light sauce.
- 7
Stir in fresh parsley. Taste and adjust seasoning. Serve immediately.
